And understandably so. WIth the advent of Amazon's new "Lending Library," Kindle users can borrow one book per month from another user, free of charge. It seems that Amazon has included authors works in this program unilaterally, as the "Big 6" publishers had refused to participate, but Amazon went ahead and started loaning out the titles anyway.
Well, that's the publishers' story.
Amazon has yet to release a statement regarding those claims, but I find it highly unlikely that they would have just issued these works with absolutely no grounds to do so, and against the publishers' wishes. Of course, crazier things have happened. What does this mean for the Lending Library? Obviously, it means the difference between having thousands of titles available and not, so if you're on the fence about joining Amazon and this program, you may want to stay there until this thing gets resolved.
